Creating a Perfect Coffee Bar

Share

2017 has been a pretty tough year, with a lot of ups and downs, but since we moved, I’ve been focusing in on one room at a time to spruce up. We majorly downsized our apartment to move to the city (like, by half), and while it’s been a great experience getting to live closer to night-life, our friends, and things within walking distance, it has not been nice living with a smaller kitchen, fewer cabinets, and less overall space. We needed a perfect coffee bar.

Because of that small amount of space, I had to come up with a gameplan to re-organize our kitchen. When we moved, the first thing I noticed was that our Keurig, Nespresso, all of our coffee mugs and wine glasses weren’t going to fit in the kitchen – yikes! So, I made a game plan to create a perfect coffee bar, and I must say that it actually worked out really well, and helped us round out the space in our cozy place.

One of the things we did, knowing we had a little less space, was to stack things on top of each other, and find creative storage solutions. Bryan loves his K-Cups and we buy them in bulk because he drinks coffee every single day. I found this little K-Cup storage rack that helps to keep everything in order.  I like how it condenses everything, and it’s made of metal, so it’s nice and hefty. It’s also flat on the top, so we’re able to store our Keurig on top and save some counter space on the bar.

I also love tea and I have a lot of bags and loose leaf canisters. It was important to me to be able to show them off because they’re often so pretty, and it just makes the space feel cozy. It’s also nice that I don’t have to go sifting through boxes to grab teabags anymore. My mom gave me this cute, decorative bowl a long time ago, and I thought it was the perfect way to display my tea bags.

Lastly, we have A LOT of mugs, pitches, water bottles, and drink glasses that couldn’t fit in our kitchen. I needed something small, but with a lot of internal shelving storage to help keep them out of our kitchen. I found this little hutch at Target. It’s short, but deep, so it fits a ton of stuff. We still have enough room for more cute coffee mugs.

This coffee bar is the perfect hub for our mornings. It holds everything we need while we wait to have our dream kitchen one day. It’s the perfect place to stop and grab a cup of coffee or tea in the morning. What would be your ideal coffee bar set up?
