Music and Cooking: A Love Story!

Share

I’m a lover of music. I honestly don’t know anyone who’d say “I hate music.” It would just be weird, wouldn’t it? I, for one, can’t live without music. I use it when I exercise, when I drive my car, or even when my boyfriend and I are cuddling it out, and we’re talking to one another. Music seems to be a recurring theme in my life. I really feel like I’m always jamming to something!
Love Music

I never really talk about the behind the scenes of Tales From The Kitch, but something that keeps me from getting bored in the kitch is music. Cooking food, and experimenting with recipes is an exciting task in itself, but sometimes what I love about being in the kitchen is the atmosphere I create by cooking along to music, and just being totally free in my creations. I can dance around while I’m beating batter to the Beatles, or I can sing into my whisk to Beyonce songs (probably my favorite thing to do, by the way).

Mila Loving Music

I really enjoy music, and when I saw Polk’s Love Music Project, and saw how it really impacts people in the world, it got me thinking about why I love music so much. So, I’ll tell you in words in a minute, but I also wanted to use my new favorite Social Media platform, Vine, to show you in 6 seconds, one of the ways I enjoy and love music! Playing it! (Safari users, click here, the vine doesn’t load well in Safari, go figure!)

Since I was a little kid, music has been a huge outlet for me. I’ve always considered myself really shy, and sort of a loner, but with music I was able to connect to someone else’s world, sounds, beats and rhythms. I was able to explore other places right in my own space. I learned to play guitar when I was in middle school, so music has always been a physical outlet of my emotions. Music lets you travel, and takes you away, and that’s the thing that I love about it.

Music also allows for giveaways!

Polk & FitFluential also did something really cool for me. They gave me $50 to give away to one of you lucky peeps! For a Mandatory entry, Leave a comment below, and tell me why you love music.

Tweet to me and I’ll give you a bonus entry! Just tell your followers why you love music by saying: “Hey, @metromila & @Polk_Audio I #LoveMusic, because _______! #TFTK”

If you really want to be impressive, upload your musical love story to the Polk Love Music Page, and send me your link so I can learn more about why you love music! I’ll count it as a third entry, and you’ll be closer to getting that awesome gift card, pretty cool, huh?

Lastly, if you share my blog using the #TFTK hashtag, you’ll get a 4th entry, and you’ll have 4 times the chance to get that $50 to Polk Audio! If that’s not cool, I’m not sure what is!

The contest ends on February 28, 2013, and I’ll randomly select a winner by March 4, 2013!

Music is something that most of us have in common. It’s something to share, and something to spread. I hope you all enjoy talking about why you love music so much, and I hope it connects you to someone who may not have otherwise met.
