A great resource for people with diabetes: Let’s Be Well Diabetes Box

Share

As a note to my readers: the AARP and American Diabetes Association gave me this product to try and compensated me for my review. All opinions from here forward are my own, and I only recommend products I truly believe in.

Let's Be Well Diabetes box

I was a little bit of a mess when I was first diagnosed with diabetes. Getting the news from your doctor is really a life-changing moment. Everything about your life and the way you live it changes when you find out about your new reality. I was scared, and above all, I really didn’t know what to do about the information I’d gotten. I was referred to an endocrinologist, dietician and a diabetic educator because I would be taking insulin, but before I could make it to those offices, I really had no idea what was ahead for me.

Most of you know that’s why I started Hangry Woman. It’s the best way I can get my non-medical, lifestyle questions answered by people who are living with it just like me, but I would have loved a kit to take with me to help start the journey.

And that’s where the Let’s Be Well Diabetes Box comes in. This is the tool I wish I had when I first started managing my diabetes. If I could do it all over again (and this existed) I would consider this a great resource to start with.

The Let’s Be Well Box is awesome because it really empowers you to take actionable steps toward managing your chronic illness. When you’re a Type 2 Diabetic, one of the first things you’re told is to manage your weight, exercise, drink lots of water, and eat well. All of those things are great, but what’s even better is having the tools in your hands to support your goals.

The Box

Let's Be Well Diabetes box

The Let’s Be Well Diabetes Boxes have been researched and designed by experts to deliver lifestyle products, resources, and information that meet people’s changing needs during their journey with diabetes. The box gives you tools that help you take action. Not sure what foods can help you manage blood glucose spikes? There’s a cookbook with great ideas to help you spice up your recipe repertoire. Travel a lot like I do, and need to work out on the go? There are work out bands that help you stay toned and get that cardio in. Need to hydrate? There’s a Bobble Bottle inside that’s easy to carry around and has a built-in filter so you always have some clean water. I loved the contents of my box, and it had some truly helpful tools.

There are so many tools in this box that take a bit of the burden off of you as you’re trying to adjust to something new and different in your life.

Research

Research has shown that the key to managing chronic conditions is empowering people to take care of themselves – on their own terms. The boxes help those living with diabetes to take the first steps towards managing their health.

Collaboration and Innovation

This desire to help individuals and their families with diabetes management is a huge part of how this box came to be.

What’s In the box:

  1. WoW! I’ve been diagnosed with Diabetes II for a few years now. I take a pill every day, but I’m overweight, still eating too much sugar, and don’t do daily blood readings. How can I receive this wonderful box of motivation? May God have mercy upon me.
